It is the age-old question, experience or youth?  The answer will be determined Nov. 18, when the Suwannee High School boys basketball team hosts a preseason alumni tournament at the SHS gymnasium.

Alumni players are encouraged to dust off their shoes, lace up their brace and take an Advil as they prepare to play the newly named 2011-12 SHS varsity basketball team.

The first game will tip off at 6 p.m., between an Alumni Team West and Alumni Team East. The winner will advance to the playoff against the SHS varsity boys at 7:30 p.m. Admission is five dollars for adults and three dollars for students and kids under 12.

There will be a three-point contest, and a slam dunk contest as well. Concessions will also be available during the tournament. This is a great time to meet the SHS basketball players and pick up the season schedules. All proceeds will benefit the SHS Boys Basketball program as they prepare for a demanding new season.

The SHS All-Sports passes will be on sale that night and the cost is $60 for adults and $30 for students. Hunter Abercrombie will be at the game with all the details.

For any questions regarding the alumni tournament, please contact coach Jeremy Ulmer at suwanneebasketball@yahoo.com. A promotional pamphlet is available in .pdf format and can be forwarded to you upon request. Go Dogs!
