LIVE OAK — Suwannee High School has a new basketball coach.
Malcolm Pollock, a Hamilton County High graduate with college and professional playing experience, as well as high school coaching experience, is Suwannee’s new head man. He’s taking over for Jeremy Ulmer, who coached the past nine seasons.
“Being from the area, knowing the talent that comes through, this is a big opportunity,” Pollock said.
Pollock graduated from HCHS in 2008 and played college basketball at Southeastern University and then professionally in Colombia.
After returning from Colombia, he was an assistant coach at HCHS under Patrick Murphy. Pollock was then the head coach of the Trojans for the 2016-17 season and an assistant coach at Lincoln High (Tallahassee) the last two seasons.
“I know there are some high expectations at Suwannee,” Pollock said. “I feel that instilling discipline and work ethic will correlate to success on the court.”
