Locally, there will be changes to baseball, softball, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls track and boys weightlifting.
After competing in Class 5A previously, the Suwannee baseball and softball teams have been moved to Class 4A. Joining Suwannee baseball in District 2 will be Ridgeview, Santa Fe, Clay and Baker County.
SHS softball will be in District 2 with Ed White High, Paxon and Baker County.

Also, district teams will not be required to play each other in the regular season.
In Class 1A rural, the old system will remain in place with district champions and district runners-up advancing to the playoffs.
