LIVE OAK, Fla. — Suwannee High offensive lineman Josh Braun has committed to the University of Georgia.
Braun, a rising senior and sought-after recruit, made the decision on Monday.
“Great academics, great athletics, they are going to develop me the best of anyone,” Braun said of UGA. “The opportunities with Atlanta being right there for interning is phenomenal.”
Georgia, which played for a national championship following the 2017 season and last won a national title in 1980, had seven players selected in the 2019 NFL draft. The Bulldogs played for the Southeastern Conference championship again this past season.
Braun has already been recognized as one of the best offensive lineman in Florida and the country. The 6-foot-6, 335-pound tackle has been named to the All-State team and MaxPreps All-American Team. He is a three-year starter at SHS and is set to begin his final high school season.
According to 247sports.com, Braun is ranked as the 25th best offensive tackle in the 2020 class and has offers from Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Michigan.
His older brothers, Trey and Parker Braun, started on the offensive line at Georgia Tech. Parker Braun will finish his college career at Texas as a graduate transfer.
