Dear Fellow Business Owners,

I am excited to share with you we have received a grant to implement a Super-Hero Job-A-Palooza here in Suwannee County for children in ESE or has a 504 plan, ages 14-21. The point of this event is to have the students come from schools and business owners allow them the opportunity to perform simulation job duties. This will guide their vocational choices while in school and, who knows, one of them may become a future employee or business owner in our community. Suwannee County is one of the most community-oriented places I have ever lived and feel this will help our students with their future.

September 19, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., we will have businesses set up simulation activities in the coliseum and students will circulate through the stations and try the simulation tasks. The businesses will judge their times and accuracy. The students will arrive by bus at 8 a.m. with a peer mentor, which will aid them in each of the stations.

Example for Businesses to Consider:

Banking — Rolling Coins;

Office/Clerical — Mail Sorting;

Restaurant — Walk with a serving tray carrying golf balls;

Grocery Store — Stocking.

Please help us make this a successful experience for the students in Suwannee County. Contact me at 386-688-6886 to sign up or ask questions. I can come to your location to explain further.
