Dear editor,

Regarding Walter Williams’ commentary of Oct. 7, 2015, titled “Suppressing Free Speech.” Mr. Williams defends the right of climate change deniers to deny by using the phrase, “when has the climate not been changing?”

Certainly, everything is in flux, and so his epistemology could make sense, however, the issue concerns the effect of human activity on climate. That is what many deniers are lying about, which is not an example of the proper application of the First Amendment.
