When school buses start driving around in early August, it’s a sight most children don’t want to see.
It means the school year is beginning once more and the freedom of summer is over.
But the yellow bus that will be making stops Thursday morning in Live Oak is one school bus that children will want to see coming.
That bus will be filled with Suwannee District Schools administrators and teachers and will be bringing with them a load of books, school supplies and even a tasty treat with popsicles in hand, too.
Granted, the delivery of school supplies will mean that soon those buses will be back in force as the school year is quickly approaching — it begins Aug. 12 for schools across our area.
But it also means some families will receive some needed school supplies and an opportunity to see their school officials out having fun.
And kudos to those same school officials — as well as the Live Oak Police Department and Beall’s Outlet and anyone else that donated — for the school supply drive.
When it was learned there was not going to be a Back to School Bash, they took action. They found a way to still meet that need for the community.
They found a way to help ease that transition back to the school year for families and children.
The yellow bus has already made its trip to Branford.
But Live Oak, be on the lookout for the yellow bus.
