Both the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce and Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce recognized their top businesses this past week.
Those businesses — and the rest that make up the Chambers’ membership and those that aren’t Chamber members as well — are the backbones of our communities.
Without them, there aren’t necessary goods and services.
Without them, there aren’t jobs or economic growth.
Businesses honored this past week are among those that step up and help wherever and whenever they can to make their community — our community — better.
So in addition to the recognition they’ve already received, we also want to take a moment and congratulate them on the work they do and the impact they make here in the Suwannee Valley.
Congratulations Hardee’s of Jasper on being named the Business of the Year in Hamilton County.
For the first time, the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce recognized three tiers of businesses — Large, Mid-Sized and Small. And all three winners are long-time businesses ingrained in the Live Oak community.
All three — Skinner’s Auto Body & Paint, McCrimon’s Office Supply and Cheek & Scott Drugs — are also more than worthy ambassadors to carry those titles.
Also deserving of recognition and more applause were the Non-Profit of the Year winners: the Special Olympics of Hamilton County and Love INC of Suwannee County.
They can’t be thanked enough for the roles they play in supporting the community.
Also thank you to both Chambers for deciding to honor those non-profit organizations that focus on the needs of the community.
Congratulations to the Businesses of the Year. We can’t wait to see who will step up to win next year’s titles.
