The lack of visibility due to dust blown across the road in high winds has led to the closure of Interstate 10 in Suwannee and Madison counties.

LIVE OAK — Due to high winds and low visibility, the Florida Highway Patrol has closed a stretch of Interstate 10 in Suwannee and Madison counties.

The wind blew dust from nearby fields across the interstate between mile markers 263 and 271, limiting visibility for drivers.

Westbound I-10 is closed at the U.S. Highway 129 exit in Live Oak at mile marker 283. The detour for motorists to continue west is as follows: travel North on U.S. 129 to County Road 132. Travel West on CR 132 to U.S. Highway 90. Travel West on US 90 back to the interstate.

Eastbound I-10 is closed at the 262 mile marker in Madison County. The detour for motorists to continue east is as follows: travel north on Madison County Road 255 to U.S. 90, take 90 east back to the interstate.
