LIVE OAK — Two people were killed in a two-car accident early Saturday morning in northern Suwannee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Michael David Brown, a 36-year-old from Live Oak, was traveling west on County Road 132 around 4:15 a.m. when, for reasons still being investigated, his Kia Soul veered into the eastbound lane of the road and into the path of a Buick Rendezvous driven by Courtney Nichole Palmer, a 29-year-old from Live Oak near the intersection with 34th Street.

The two cars collided head-on.

Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Palmer was transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

The role, if any, alcohol played in the crash is pending FHP’s investigation.

Brown was wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP’s report, but Palmer was not.
