LIVE OAK — Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park fans, this is the weekend to come and cheer on many favorite up and coming artists and some new ones.
Friday is the first 2020 Suwannee River Jam audition for artists to try and win their way to this year’s Jam, which is set for April 29 through May 1. Saturday night, 14 artists all under 18, will bring the first Legends of Country & Pop Show to the SOSMP Music Hall. But wait, that’s not all, Sunday is the 11th annual Wedding Expo in the Music Hall. This is going to be a spectacular weekend for the wedding expo and great music where you will see many future artists who may one day entertain all across the USA.
The first 2020 SRJ Audition begins at 7 p.m. in the Music Hall Friday evening. This audition is for solo singers and duos. Judges will select five winners to move forward to the finals to be held March 8. At that final those who will perform at the 2020 SRJ will be selected after one last evening of auditions. Auditioning Friday are LeeAnn Purvis (Callahan), Charity Cox (Anthony), Kyle Brigham (O’Brien), Cheyenne Graft Brigham (O’Brien), Brandon Adams (St. Augustine), Ashley Aust (Lake City), Payten Tison (Fleming Island), Brooke Spencer (St. Johns), Katie O (Jacksonville), Cole Tomlinson (Blackshear, Ga.), Taylor Phillips (Palm Coast), Brandon Bing (Samsula), John Lee (Mississippi) and Reggie Stacy (Bronson). Friday night’s show is free admission.
Saturday, it’s the first Legends of Country & Pop show. Fourteen artists under the age of 18 from the Jacksonville area, South Georgia and Central Florida will be paying tribute to country legends during this fabulous show expected to fill the Music Hall with fans. Artists performing are Katie O as Loretta Lynn, Godiva as Patsy Cline, Kian Sanchez as Ritchie Valens, Shane Patrick as Buddy Holly, Stephen Quinn as Vince Gill, Payten Tison as Brenda Lee, Brooke Spencer as Dolly Parton, LeeAnn Purvis as Connie Francis, Tegan Hill as Tammy Wynette, Katryna Alexis as Aretha Franklin, Jean Reid as Leslie Gore, Cole Tomlinson as George Straight, Macey Mac as Janis Joplin and Jaelyn Jackson as Wynona. Folks, this is going to be a night to remember. Admission is $10 per person at the door, food and drinks extra. Part of the funds go to help these young artists with travel expenses, the reminder will assist Jacksonville’s Northeast Florida Music Foundation that helps provide venues for these young artists.

To finish this spectacular weekend perfectly, Sunday in the Music Hall will be the 11th annual Wedding Expo, starting at 1 p.m. This is the first wedding expo in North Florida of 2020 and it’s just indescribably beautiful affair. Vendors who provide wedding cakes, cookies, catering, jewelry, carriages, limos, florists, insurance for the new family, wedding gowns, clothing for the entire wedding part, honeymoon sites, a wedding fashion show and so much more will be present. There are also drawings brides may enter for prizes. Free admission.
