LIVE OAK — The summer holidays are over and fall is just around the corner but don’t despair, there’s still plenty of great music coming to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.
The popular Sondra Hunt will be in the house Saturday with her band after the Justin Time Band opens the weekend Friday.
Justin Time, a newly formed band for 2019, made its debut in the spring at SOSMP and has since drawn large crowds here with multiple successful visits. The band, with Frank Freihofer (lead vocals/guitar), Nick Kirby (vocals/guitar), Matt Johns (vocals/various instruments), Kenny Chinn (keys), Carl Manna (drums) and Jonathan Benefield (guitar), is loaded with some of the best singers/songwriters/musicians in North Florida. Many of these band members have played the Suwannee River Jam numerous times with other bands. For those looking for a little country, Southern rock, some jazz, contemporary and other genres of music from one band, be sure to arrive early to the Music Hall on Friday.
Saturday night the SOSMP welcomes back Sondra Hunt and her sensational band from the Starke/Lake Butler area. Sondra Hunt (lead vocals), Jordan Snyder (guitar/harmonica/vocals), Bradley Norcross (drums) and Richard Ritari (bass/mandolin/vocals/band management) make up the Sondra Hunt Band. Two years ago, Hunt won a huge talent contest at SOSMP after a long competition with terrific talent vying for $5,000. Hunt is a spectacular singer/performer and songwriter who is also a realtor, wife and mother.
