JACKSONVILLE — Due to the approach of Hurricane Dorian, the U.S. Postal Service Gulf Atlantic District announced temporary suspensions of services that went into effect Tuesday.

Those suspensions include the closing of the post offices in Hamilton, Lafayette and Suwannee counties.

The USPS said there is no estimate on when mail delivery and retail operations will resume, but it will be as quickly as possible.

Among the closures in North Florida are Branford, Live Oak, McAlpin and O’Brien in Suwannee County; Jasper, Jennings and White Springs in Hamilton County; and Day and Mayo in Lafayette County.
