LIVE OAK — Melody Church has announced its fifth annual “Love Week” is taking place this week.
From today through Sunday, members of the church plan to donate 1,000 volunteer hours along with $2,500 to several local organizations in Suwannee County. Everyone from children to senior citizens will be able to serve the community through this organized week of volunteering.
The organizations chosen by Melody Church are: Pregnancy Care Center, The Arc North Florida, Mystic Jungle, Good Samaritan Center and Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center. Melody Church will also hold a breakfast for the first responders of Suwannee County as well as local government officials.
“Our vision is to infiltrate Suwannee County with the Love of Christ through volunteering,” Melody Pastor Darrin Baldwin said in a release.
Melody Church invites individuals as well as other churches to join in volunteering this week. For more information, contact the Melody Church office or follow the church on Facebook at facebook.com/melodychurchliveoak or visit its website at melodychurch.com.
This is the fifth year that Melody Church has served our community through the outreach of “Love Week.” T-shirts commemorating “Love Week” will be $10 each and will be available by Feb. 1.
“Every year it gets bigger and better than the year before,” Heidi Hofer, Melody Church outreach coordinator, added in the release. “This year, we hope to be able to show God’s love in a real and practical way to even more of our community. Our desire is for Love Week to become a way of life in Suwannee County, not just a one week event.”
