Mayo Town Hall

MAYO — The millage rate is not going up for residents in the Town of Mayo.

At its budget hearing Monday, the town council approved the millage rate of 6.0 mills for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

That is the same rate as last year, although it is a 1.78 percent increase from the rollback rate, or the rate that will provide the same amount of tax revenue as the previous year’s rate..

The council also approved its budget of $844,630 — $403,156 in the general fund and $441,474 in the enterprise fund.

That is an increase of $8,689 from the current budget.
