It’s going to be a Storytime Christmas in Live Oak. That is the theme for the 27th Annual Christmas on the Square, presented by the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce. Festivities will begin Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8 a.m., with the arts and crafts show that has grown to become an annual highlight for North Florida and South Georgia. The Arts and Crafts Show, along with live entertainment, food and drink vendors, games and Santa Land will continue until 4 p.m.
An antique and classic car and truck show sponsored by the Live Oak Fire Department will take place downtown from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Although there will be no trophies awarded in this show, there will be no entry fee either. The LOFD asks those entering the show to carry a $10 toy suitable for children up to 12 years of age. The car and truck show is being held to help Sparky’s Kids have a better Christmas.
Another highlight of Christmas on the Square is the annual Christmas Lights Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. The lighted parade always generates excitement and ignites the Spirit of Christmas throughout the community. The Storytime Christmas Parade is sure to live up to expectations. This year’s parade route begins at the Suwannee River Regional Library on South Ohio Avenue and travels north. From Ohio Avenue, the parade will travel west on Howard Street and conclude at Paul Langford Stadium.
Everyone is encouraged to come out and join in the festivities, take advantage of local shopping and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
