What kind of society do we live in, where some people think it's alright to take things that don't belong to them? Bushes and plants on private property are not free to be taken! Get a job and buy your own!

re:Suwannee County's recent drug arrests-

Thank you Sheriff's Office!

but,

Where is the Community's LEADERSHIP?Where are the Church's ELDERS?

And, OH! Where is the NAACP on this?

We should all be asking these questions.

If you see something happening (and YOU KNOW you do!)pick up the phone and report it! That's YOUR responsibility. Dealing drugs cannot be considered gainful employment.

I wish more people in our community knew what was going on with the infectious medical waste incinerator proposed in Suwannee county. Mecury, cancer, dioxens furons ,birth defects, needles, body parts, roting smell the list goes on! Our commissioners took our vote from us won't return our calls! Wake up Suwannee county we need to stand up to this disgrace! This is not the jobs we need in our community !!!

****

Why is everyone complaining about the waste incinerator? This could be the best thing ever. Once everyone contracts cancer and other illnesses they can sue the County and sit at home and make money until they die. This is just a great idea by the County Commissioners to enhance everyone’s wealth.

****

Since my property is about 5 miles as the crow flies from this nightmare incinerator I guess my taxes on it should be $0.00 as it will destroy property value that pays the fools that run this place like 3rd world dictators. 2 more middle aged working taxpaying home owners and the money generated by our businesses will be leaving Suwannee County if this goes through. Also plan on walking away from the house & leave the local bank stuck with it rather than selling at a loss or living near a death trap.

****

Initially thought the incinerator was not great idea, but could live with it. A little homework shows it is a terrible idea. We already have the worst agriculture pollution in the state along with highest mortality @ youngest age. The incinerator does actually present a real danger being this close to large scale agri. op's.

The really  worst part of this is Comm. Wainwright & his love affair with toxic waste. The way they have abused their power to pull this off is highly offensive, but Gov. Scott & D.C. must be proud of them. Can you spell recall vote? If they plan on treating the people that fund their paychecks like this, they got it coming to them.

With Suwannee Middle School's 6th graders' agendas having trigonometry, differential and integral calculus reference pages, is there any possible way the school has students who need them?  If so, it should have the international baccalaureate (IB) program for these students!!!

Regarding the medical waste facility and their Air Permit approval. Is it just me or can everyone else see through Alberta Hipps. Mr. Barry looked long and hard to find her. What does it take for this company to see they are not wanted here in beautiful Suwannee County.

****

In Friday's article "Air permit approved: Medical waste facility moving forward", An IWMS spokesperson said "We're still looking at our next steps and working with individuals on moving forward. We believe Suwannee County has the industrial site that is designed to have industry, so are still looking at that site." Expect IWMS to push very aggressively to thwart public opinion!

Three votes by the other Commissioners will overrule the Chairman in any meeting, when the Chairman would not let the public speak on the waste incinerator, and none of the other Commissioners objected, they were in agreement with the Chairman. If our Commissioners won't protect the First Amendment the others will soon follow.

****

Praying that General Barry brings his incinerator operation to Suwannee County. The type people gripping about it at our county and city meetings would find fault if a water purification plant moved to town. We need jobs.

Thank you Live Oak Fire Dept. for a fun and educational day Saturday, Sept. 28th. In celebration of your 110th Anniversary.

Ladies and Gentleman There is only ONE WAY that the board will listen. Just remember to Vote them OUT. but you have to remember.

Suggestion for the “Rant and Rave” in Friday, 9-20-13 paper regarding how children dress for school in Suwannee County. This problem was solved in Taylor County Schools when members of the board voted for uniforms. Not like Catholic schools, but by wearing only school colors, only school logos on T-shirts. No baggy pants with underwear showing, and no sexy clothing on girls and, oh yes, no holes in pants (boys or girls). This all took a while but it is working. Suwannee County should give it a try.

A four way stop sign at the intersection of Helvenston and Railroad Street is absolutely ridiculous. I have been passing through this area for 15 years, various times of day and have never had a problem. Must be something more demanding that needs attention? Is someone in authority expecting a huge increase of traffic in the near future? Money could be spent more wisely.

What did the City and County finally decide about funding the local Chamber of Commerce? I think they should wait until these two key hires materialize.

Those attending our local Republican "Lincoln-Reagan" dinner should ask the guest speaker why he has done NOTHING to address homeowners' insurance rates since taking office in 2011.

No major Fla. hurricanes since 2005 but monopolistic premiums continue going up year after year. The insurance lobby is now Tallahassee's largest contributor. See any obvious connection?

Cali nor DC has anything on our Tally cartel!

I read the article about Antonio Rosales who pleaded guilty to first degree murder for killing another inmate. The issue I have is why did Rosales get ANOTHER life sentence. Why not the death penalty? Basically Rosales had nothing to lose by committing murder. Why was the death penalty waived by the State Attorney?

Our County Commissioners have a dilemma. Since they have the catalyst properties for sale, they MUST sell it to any company that makes a reasonable offer, or risk being sued. If they sell to polluters, they face a tidal wave of public outrage.

Just heard the school bus go by my house, screaming, yelling. How can the bus driver keep these kids safe. Aren't the parents teaching them? What is the school doing about this. Is the bus driver allowed to turn the bad unruly kids in? This is a dangerous situation and needs to be addressed by parents and the schools.

****

Hi I’m calling about the problems on the school bus. My son got off the bus again today crying and upset because their are kids screaming and yelling and running up and down the aisles. Whose responsible for these conditions? Somebody needs to take this on and do something about before the bus driver wrecks and everybody gets hurt. Please do something about it school board.

This is our last and only chance to speak out on the incinerators. Every person who can vote in Suwannee County needs to call each county commissioner and voice your opinion that we don’t want this in our county. If it goes through we need to have a special called election and vote each commissioner out just as soon as we can do it. I understand however it is already a done deal, but we need to hold a special election and we can get rid of everyone of them.

****

Government shutdown triggered. Hundreds of thousands of workers to be furloughed. Stop look and listen Suwannee County voters, how long will it be before we have the same problem. Our county commissioners have put us in the same position. Maybe it’s time to find out why it’s costing twice as much to complete the catalyst project as we were told. Could we have some double dipping on most of the work being done? Could be time to think of a recall election for county commissioners.

****

If you want to see excessive and abusive local Government, attend a County Commission meeting. Want to stop excessive and abusive local government, attend and be a part of the County Commission meeting.

****

It is scary and quite shocking how the County Commissioners, other than Mr. Gamble, are trying to shove the medical waste plant down our throats. It is obvious the citizens of the County don’t want the incinerator here. To all of the voters in Suwannee County, please pay attention to their actions.
