LIVE OAK — A Live Oak man has been charged with lewd and lascivious battery after a January incident with a minor.
The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregory E. Decker Jr., 26, on Tuesday on the lewd and lascivious battery charges following DNA analysis from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Lab.
According to the SCSO report, the suspect then allegedly admitted to having sex with the victim in January and that the allegations were true.
The report states the suspect said he woke up to the victim performing sexual acts on him.
The victim was taken to a Columbia County hospital and reported the incident to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office just after the incident occurred at the suspect’s Suwannee County residence on January 16, according to the report.
The report states that the suspect was interviewed on January 25 and he denied the allegations at that time.
The FDLE Crime Lab obtained DNA samples from the victim’s clothes, which were taken by the CCSO when the incident was reported, and matched those samples to both the victim and the suspect, according to the report.
