WELLBORN — Hearthstone Gardens, a botanical showplace, invites the public to attend a morning in the garden Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition to touring the gardens, people may participate in an array of fun activities such as hay rides, scarecrow face painting, bake table, cake walk, photo ops with a scarecrow and hot dogs. Entrance to the gardens is free.
Make it a family fun activity and construct a scarecrow to the displayed in the garden. The public will vote Oct. 19 for the Most Creative Scarecrow and the Scariest Scarecrow. Winners will be announced at noon and prizes will be awarded.
Scarecrows must have their own support system and be appropriate for family viewing. Scarecrows may be dropped off on Friday, Oct. 11, or Saturday, Oct. 12, between 9 a.m. and noon. The entrant’s name and phone number should be visible on the back of the scarecrow.
Hearthstone Gardens is located at 3300 134th Place in Wellborn, just off U.S. Highway 90. Coming from Lake City, it is on the left just before the Wellborn Church of God. Coming from Live Oak, it is on the right just past the Wellborn Church of God.
