Suwannee County's Board of County Commissioners agreed to convey the Post 107 property in McAlpin to the American Legion.

McALPIN — The American Legion Harry C. Gray II Memorial Post 107 is hosting an open house Sunday to celebrate the American Legion’s 100th birthday.

The American Legion, the nation’s largest veterans’ service organization, was founded in 1919. The Post 107 is inviting the public to attend an open house from 4-7 p.m. Sunday to celebrate as well as see the post’s facilities and the displays of uniforms and memorabilia from members that served the nation during war. Refreshments and snacks will be available.

The Post 107 is located at 10726 142nd St. in McAlpin, six miles south of Live Oak off of U.S. Highway 129.
