During the much-anticipated event, General Manager Teena Peavey made a special presentation to Spirit of the Suwannee CEO James Cornett. A plaque presented to Cornett thanked him for “making the best music venue in the country a reality.” The plaque named seven awards won by the Spirit of the Suwannee over recent years such as Top 10 Music Venue to See Before You Die, Suwannee Hulaween – Top 10 Festivals to Visit During Halloween, Top 10 Most Beautiful Outdoor Music Venue in America, Best Live Music Venue in Florida and other awards.

Surprised, Cornett thanked Peavey and his employees for the gift.

Spirit of the Suwannee IT guy John Langford was surprised when he was presented with the SOSMP Employee of the Year plaque. Peavey said Langford, who has been at the SOSMP less than two years, is an exceptional employee and has accomplished much in the short time he’s been employed at the SOSMP.

Peavey also recognized all SOSMP departments and their employees for their hard work throughout the year.

This was a very special day as Peavey led games with employees challenging each other and winning gifts. Every child of employees received a book bag filled with school supplies. A drawing brought much happiness as gift cards and prizes were awarded as the dinner came to an end. Many employees expressed their sincere gratitude to be part of the SOSMP team.
