The First Baptist Church of Jasper is celebrating their 175th Anniversary with a Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 6.
The church is located at 207 2nd Street NE, Jasper, Florida 32052. Homecoming is a time to remember all God's blessings from the past and to look forward to what He's going to do among us in the future. The church has been looking forward to this for some time now and preparations have been made for everyone to have a great time getting to know old friends all over again.
Join us in welcoming our former pastor, Brother Troy Varnum, who will be our guest preacher for this special day. Pastor Varnum was our pastor at our church from 1994 - 2001 and is currently the Director of Missions at the Northwest Coast Baptist Association in Panama City, Florida. He and his wife, Latriva, are well-loved by not only our church family but by many people in the Central/West/North Florida area in his pastorates since 1983.
Our church has a new Minister of Music/Youth, Wayne Harrell. Wayne and his wife, Jamie, came here from Central Florida back in June of this year and they have been such a blessing to our church. Wayne is preparing a great morning of music for everyone, from congregational singing to music specials from some of our many talented members at First Baptist. It's going to be a "musical extravaganza" in praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The morning service begins at 10:30 am. Please come and worship with us. We are so very excited about having Brother Troy preach from God's Word, hearing His praises in music and meeting old and new friends that love the Lord.
Dinner on the grounds in the fellowship hall will be served after the morning service. We have some great cooks and we hope that everyone joins us to enjoy "one of the finest meals you've ever put your knees under a table to receive"...a quote from Pastor William Floyd, another one of our wonderful preachers that served here at 1st Baptist of Jasper.
Pastor Roger Hutto and 1st Baptist Church of Jasper family are looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday, November 6th at 10:30 am. If you have questions, please call the church at 386-792-2658.
