JASPER — The Florida chapter of the Hemp Industries Association continued its statewide road tour with a stop at the UF/IFAS Hamilton County Extension office Aug. 29.
The tour, which is designed to provide informational workshops and presentations to the community surrounding the growing opportunities within the expanding hemp industry, included remarks from Ray Mazzie, Executive Director of the Hemp Industries Association of Florida; Dick Crockett, North Florida Regional Director, External Affairs, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; Tim Standfield, Greenberg Traurig, LLP; and Ashley Leibe, Certified Cannabis Instructor.
The five-stop road tour ends in Tallahassee on Sept. 19.

Those organizations and individuals interested in joining the hemp industry will also have the opportunity to learn more about becoming a part of a national trade association with access to critical resources and industry-leading experts.
“It has always been my passion to bring human, natural and financial resources together to develop the technology and strategy that grow successful businesses and communities,” said David Hasenauer, Chairman of the Hemp Industries Association of Florida Board of Directors and newly appointed member of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Hemp Advisory Committee. “We are focused on cultivating a better future for our hemp partners in Florida and across the country.”
