JASPER — Hamilton County High School graduated 96 students in a ceremony held Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
After rain earlier in the day, the hour-long ceremony that started at 8 p.m. was not affected by the weather. Of the 96 graduates, 10 were recognized as Summa Cum Laude, three were Magna Cum Laude and nine were Cum Laude.
Hunter McCulley was the salutatorian. Logan Hughes, who had a 4.8 GPA and will attend Valdosta State University, was valedictorian.
Hughes’ message to the graduating class focused on not allowing failure to get in the way of accomplishing goals.
“Babe Ruth said ‘each strikeout brings me closer to my next home.’ Only through failure can we achieve our goals,” Hughes said.
The Air Force JROTC cadets presented the colors. McCulley and Principal Donald Harrison also spoke to the graduating class.
The ceremony concluded with a benediction from Madison Register.
