MAYO — Non-stop fun and adventure continued during the fourth week of Lafayette Summer 4-H day camp. One of the favorite art projects of the week was the making of a flag mosaic. Other art projects were duck-tape art which included making roses, wallets and purses.
The field trip for the week was a trip to the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee. The visit included a stop at the top of the capitol building that let 4-Hers get a bird’s eye view of the capitol city and beyond. Everyone enjoyed watching local 4-H members in action during 4-H Legislature. The trip also included going to the Old Capitol Museum and the Florida Museum of Natural History. There was also time to go to the Imax Theater to watch a 4-D movie about the ocean and marine life.
4-H campers worked hard on Thursday helping pack groceries for the county’s senior commodity program. There was also a trip to Oak Ridge Assisted Living for a game of bingo and a birthday celebration for one of the residents.
