LIVE OAK — A Georgia man was killed Friday in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 10.
Christopher Hogelin, a 53-year-old from Rabun Gap, Ga., was traveling west on I-10 around noon when his Chevrolet Silverado crashed just west of the Live Oak-Jasper exit.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s report, for unknown reasons, Hogelin’s truck traveled onto the northern shoulder of the interstate before he overcorrected and crossed back across the westbound lanes and into the median.
The report states the truck then began to overturn and landed on its right side in the eastbound lanes of the interstate.
Hogelin was airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville but succumbed to his injuries.
