JACKSONVILLE — A flood watch has been issued for Suwannee County through Saturday evening by the National Weather Service in Jacksonville.

The flood watch, which is in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday, also includes Gilchrist and Alachua counties as well as part of Marion County with rainfall in the area expected to accumulate up to 3-6 inches.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight.

Saturday morning, that chance of precipitation rises to 80 percent with 3/4 to 1 inch of new rainfall possible.

Storms are still expected Saturday night with a 60 percent chance of rain.
