LIVE OAK — Dr. Tim Tooten’s annual spring revival, set for April, will follow the theme “Leading by Example.”
The revival, which began five years ago after being organized by Tooten and his mother, Doris Tooten, is set for April 11-13 at the Greater Bethel AME Church, 608 Leslie Ave. NE in Live Oak. The revival will begin at 7 p.m. each night.
“It’s my life mission to encourage everyone I come in contact with,” Tooten said. “This is especially true of the people who in and around the community where I grew up.
“Our culture is in need of a word of encouragement. It’s my hope the spring revival will go a long way toward accomplishing this goal.”
Also during the week of the revival, Tooten will present the inaugural “Leading by Example” Community award.
“There are so many people in our community who possess leadership skills,” Tooten added. “That’s why I find it difficult to select just one person for the ‘Leading by Example’ award.’
“I believe God continues to raise up a generation of leaders in our communities, our churches and our homes.”
Tooten is a Live Oak native and 1976 graduate of Suwannee High School. He is the pastor and founder of Harvest Christian Ministries in Baltimore County, Md.
He is also an Emmy-Award winning broadcast education reporter at WBAL-TV, an NBC affiliate. Wooten is also the author of the best-selling book, “Leading by Example, a Parental Guide to Teaching and Modeling Christian Faith at home.” He recently donated more than 250 copies of his book to families in Mombasa, Kenya.
