BRANFORD — The schools in Branford are looking to collect items to help displaced Hurricane Dorian victims from the Bahamas that will be staying in the area.
A trailer will be parked in the parking lot of Buccaneer Stadium (Cleve Sikes Field) the next two days before and after school and as well as before Branford High’s home football game Friday night.
The trailer will be taking donations Thursday from 7:40-8 a.m. and 2:40-3:15 p.m., and Friday from 7:30-8 a.m. and 2:40-3:15 p.m.
It will be back during the tailgate party from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday prior to the football game.
The schools are looking to collect the following items: pillows, sheets, wash cloths, towels and personal hygiene items.
The goods collected will be used for a group of 34 to 40 women and children from the Bahamas that will be arriving Saturday and staying at Camp Anderson in Old Town for a few weeks.
Other items will be gladly accepted as well.
Arrangements can be made to drop off donations outside of those times. Contact the schools, Stacy Young or Sharon Richardson to set up a time.
