The FDLE mobile crime lab is at Mayo Town Park assisting with the investigation into a deceased body found Tuesday.

MAYO, Fla. — The body of a deceased man was found at Mayo Town Park on July 9.

According to Lafayette County Sheriff Brian Lamb, deputies found a middle-aged Hispanic male deceased at the park following a call around noon.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement mobile crime lab assisted the LCSO investigation, which has been completed. No foul play was suspected from the beginning of the investigation.

“There is no cause for concern for the town’s safety,” Lamb said July 9.

The man has been identified as Mario Hernandez, a 38-year-old, from Mayo.

He died of natural causes, with the cause of death determined by the Medical Examiner to be Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage, Chronic Ethanolism.
