LIVE OAK — Live Oak’s annual fine art exhibition returns to the Suwannee River Regional Library this weekend.
The opening reception and awards ceremony for the annual Autumn Artfest is Friday from 5-7 p.m. The Live Oak Artists Guild, which presents the annual art show along with the library, invites the community as well as the artists, their guests and award sponsors to the reception.
Artfest is a juried art show with at least 12 awards being presented Friday: Best of Show, Judge’s Choice, photography, painting, drawing and three-dimensional media.
Steven Walker, a full-time artist living in Valdosta, Ga., will be this year’s judge. Walker grew up in Richmond, Va., where he discovered his love for art at an early age. He earned his bachelor’s degree in fine arts at Virginia Commonwealth University and later earned a master’s in fine arts at Maywood University.
Following the opening reception, artwork from the show will be exhibited during library hours from Sept. 9-20. The award-winning submissions will also be part of a featured exhibition at the library from Sept. 23 through Oct. 4.
