LIVE OAK — Do you need to update your Food Manger Certification?

The UF/IFAS Suwannee County Extension Office provides the training. Food service workers and managers can check their knowledge of the 2017 Food Code updates when they attend the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe course at the Extension office in Live Oak, 1302 11th Street SW (next to the coliseum) on Sept. 25.

This class is a comprehensive review which provides the most up-to-date information and current regulations. The ServSafe Manager’s Exam is given at the end of the training which provides a National Certification that is good for five years. Certification is required in Florida for food managers of all establishments licensed by the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation, the Dept. of Ag and Consumer Services and selected licenses of the Department of Health. Registration can be completed online at or by calling the Extension office at 1-888-232-2723, for a form to mail in the registration, or any questions regarding the registration process.

The class will start at 8:30 am on Sept. 25. Those attending should bring a photo ID and sack lunch. Pre-registration required seven days before class. Study manuals may be purchased in English or Spanish or can be checked out of the Suwannee River Regional Library.
