DOWLING PARK — Pesty garden critters will be the topic of Thursday’s gardening workshop with the Master Gardeners at the Jo Kennon Public Library in Dowling Park.

The workshop will begin at 10 a.m.

The Master Gardeners will also be available from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, and April 18, to answer any gardening questions during the Seed Library. Seed packets may also be checked out at that time.

On Wednesday at the Jo Kennon Library, Wendy Dickinson from the First Federal Bank branch in Dowling Park, will conduct a Money Smart Week Presentation at 1 p.m., focusing on safe banking for seniors, including identifying and avoiding scams.

Eric Musgrove, the county historian, will continue his History of Suwannee County series Thursday at noon when he covers the mid-1960s and 1970s.

On Monday, Rosemary Eakins will show and demonstrate her miniature displays at 10 a.m.

The library’s Barbershop Chat discussion group will meet April 11 and 25 at 10 a.m. Topics will range from history to current events and much more. Coffee and snacks are provided.

Also on April 11, Susan Larson will demonstrate bread making at 1 p.m. at the library, including making gluten-free bread.

The library is holding its monthly rock painting party April 16 at 6 p.m. All supplies are provided.

All branches of the Suwannee River Regional Library System, including the Dowling Park location, will be closed April 19 for Good Friday.

On April 26, the Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. to discuss “Manhattan Beach” by Jennifer Egan. Copies are available for checkout at the library.

Tammy Watson will also be at the library April 26 from 2-3 p.m. for consultation or to answer any questions about insurance needs.
