WHITE SPRINGS — Later this month, patrons of the White Springs Library will look to combine laughter and yoga for a great time.
Dottie Price, a certified yoga instructor and the owner of Suwannee River Yoga in White Springs, will lead a laughter yoga workshop at the library from 2-3 p.m. on May 22. Laughter yoga has been compared to “internal jogging.”
On Tuesday, the library is hosting a Stardust Party for teens at 4 p.m. Goggles will be provided and those participating are encouraged to wear a white T-shirt that they “don’t care about,” since it will likely never be white again, per the library’s release. The event, which will take place outside under the pavilion, will end at 5:30 p.m. Those attending should bring an unopened snack to share.
The library’s May Makerspace will be May 15 and May 29 at 4 p.m. with an active exploration of mechanical toys.
The seed library is open Mondays from 1-3 p.m. In addition to checking out seeds, a Master Gardener will be on hand to provide gardening tips.
Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., the library hosts story time for preschool age children.
The Teen Drama group meets at the library on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. for shadow puppets and dramatic skit practice for upcoming events.
At 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, the Teen Anime Club meets for K-Pop, crafts, popcorn and anime.
Adult coloring sheets are available at the library from 1-6 p.m. every weekday. Pencils and markers are provided as well.
People may also begin signing up for the library’s summer reading program, “Universe of Stories.”
The White Springs Library will be closed May 27 to observe Memorial Day.
