Dinksey Hunter Riley Petty

Dinksey Hunter Riley Petty, 85, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006, at the Suwannee Valley Nursing Center. She was born on October 10, 1921, to the late Joe and Rosa Hunter.

Survivors include one son: Warren of Jasper; four daughters: Helen Monds (Jeff) of Jasper; Lillian Johnson (Joe) of Gainesville, Florida; Vivian Smith (Edward) of Melbourne, Florida; and Colleen Petty of Jasper; one brother: Wiley Hunter of Jasper; one sister: Melissa Harwood (Jerry) of Oklahoma; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, 2006, in the chapel of Harry T Reid Funeral Home with Reverend Wendell Mathis officiating. Interment followed in Hebron Cemetery.

Adelaida U “Dely” Smith

Adelaida U “Dely” Smith, 61, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Gainesville, Florida, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in the Philippines on February 27, 1945. Mrs. Smith moved to Jasper with her husband in 1971 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Philippine-American Association in Lake City, Florida. Her parents, one brother, Patroceno Umipig, and a sister, Willie U Vencino, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Joseph Calvin Smith of Jasper; four daughters: Tammie Viger and Lynn Smith, both of Meridian, Mississippi; Kay Costanza of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Dianne LaCalle of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers: Fediricon Umipig and Antonio Umipig; one sister: Eufemia U Antonio; one niece: Lillibeth Matilla; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 7, 2006, in the chapel of Harry T Reid Funeral Home with Reverend Wendell Hill officiating. Committal services will be held at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Philippine-American Association, 199 SE Baya Ave., Lake City, Florida, 32025.

Verdia Mae Pittman Muench

Verdia Mae Pittman Muench, 86, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006, in Lanier County, Georgia, following an extended illness. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Muench was preceded in death by her husbands: Carroll Pittman and Ervin Muench; and three sons: Billy Pittman, Bobby Pittman and Winston “Buddy” Pittman.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Vera Pittman, and Jonathan and Maxine Pittman all of Live Oak, Florida; four daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia and Sidney Lord of Live Oak; Jean and Buddy McGarrah of Ochlocknee, Georgia; Elizabeth and Ray Moore of Statenville, Georgia; and Wanda and James McCall of Jasper; 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, 2006, in the chapel of Harry T Reid Funeral Home with Reverend Leroy Dobbs officiating. Interment followed in Cat Creek Cemetery.
