Bobby L. Barrs, 70, a resident of Lake City, passed away Dec. 4, 2007 at the V.A. Hospital Gainesville.

Mr. Barrs was a resident of Lake City for the past fifty years. He was formerly of the Branford community. He is the son of the late Francis DeWitt and Mary Morris Barrs. He was in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957 and was a member of the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Barrs. He owned and operated Barrs Battery Service for the past thirty years and was a member of the Evangel Church of God, Lake City.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Barrs, Lake City; one daughter: Lynda (Michael) Perry, Lake City; one son Billy Barrs, Milledgeville, Ga.; one sister: Ethel Gramlin, Perry; four brothers: Estill Barrs, Ray Barrs, Gerald Barrs all of Lake City, and Rev. Glen Barrs, Jasper; four grandchildren: Jesse Barrs, Charlie Parker, Manda Perry and Scott Perry also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Barrs were conducted Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Evangel Church of God with the Rev. John Hathaway, officiating.

Interment followed in the Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday Dec. 6, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 SW. Main Blvd. Lake City was in charge of arrangements.
