Lobbyists must register with Suwannee River Water Management District

Live Oak —

Effective July 1, 2014, a lobbyist is required to register with the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD). During the 2014 legislative session the Florida Legislature passed Senate Bill 846, which was recently signed into law, requiring persons who lobby the water management districts to annually register as a lobbyist. Another requirement of the law is for the districts to post a database on their website of currently registered lobbyists.

The SRWMD website will also include a database of persons registered to lobby in the SRWMD and lobbyist registration information.

Persons registering must include a signed statement that he/she is authorized to lobby on behalf of the group or business, including providing the name and business address, names of each group or business, area of interest, and any direct or indirect business association, partnership and financial relationship the principal or lobbyist may have with any SRWMD Governing Board Member and/or employee. A registration fee of $40 is required to be submitted with the lobbyist registration form.
