Rant & Rave for June 13, 2014

Live Oak —

It is sad that students have to be paddled at school.  It is sad because they do not get the required discipline at home.  Our schools now must feed students breakfast because the parents don't or won't!  Wake up parents!  If you are going to leave the responsibility of raising your children to the schools, then quit complaining about how they do it.  Wake up earlier!  Make a bowl of cereal!  When your kid is bad in school, correct the behavior, don't defend them and blame the teacher or principal!  Be a parent!

I do not understand why the City wants move the farmer's market downtown in the vacant lot between Warren Street and Ohio Ave.  There is a very limited number of parking spaces available downtown during the work week.  The farmer's market is currently being held at John Hale Park on East Duval Street, where there is ample parking.  What is the reasoning behind the move?

Just seen the SHS graduation picture in the paper. What a happy, excited group ! They look like they can't wait to leave. I bet the younger kids can't wait to go there . It is graduation ! Enjoy yourselves

support for the heritage scam? it'd be alright if privately funded and BS whitewashing of actual costs. No one is going to come for that as a destination. If on a weekend, Live Oak is a ghost town.

In response to the Rant on June 6th, it may be that if more parents disciplined their children at home and taught them to respect others, we might not have so many instances of school personnel "whupping on other people's children".  Well behaved children begin at home!

FCAT results. DISAPPOINTING! Grades 4-8 on level kids for reading, 49% Suwannee/56% Branford. The math was 46% Suwannee/56% Branford. The bright point is Branford smoked Suwannee, dim point Branford still has 44% setup for failure with Suwannee even worse. I'm a business owner that will need these students some day. Parents get involved early!!
