Live Oak —
On Thursday, Dec. 6, the Live Oak City Council held a special called meeting to narrow a pool of over two dozen applicants, down to five candidates who they wish to interview for the city administrator position.
At the Nov. 27 recessed council meeting, each panel member was asked to review the applications and select three who they thought were best qualified for the job. From the pool of approximately 15 applications, each board member selected their top choice and presented it during the special called meeting.
Panel members selected the following to interview. Jacob Grantham selected Joseph Maranti; Keith Mixon chose Andrew DeCandis; Bennie Thomas picked David Kraus; and Adam Prins chose Timothy Williams. John Yulee submitted Keith Bennett, but Bennett pulled his name from the running after being selected for an interview. The council had agreed that only the four remaining will be interviewed.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for Dec. 18, beginning at 3 p.m. at Live Oak City Hall on White Avenue.
The board also voted to put a salary range on the city administrator position. The panel agreed that the position would be paid $60-$70,000, based on experience.
