Live Oak — ****

Went to BHS week to pick up a student. Two officers walked right past me with out even a glance my way. They were engrossed in personal conversation. No one in the office noticed either. We need to be observent in our schools.

County Commissioners, why let Randy Harris tinker with the mowing and beautification of County property when that is already being adequately done. Seems like a total waste of taxpayer money when the job is already being done at no cost to the taxpayers. Like the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I take exception to the person complaining about everyone driving around here at high speeds. How do you expect them to continuously run all the stop signs and red lights unless they drive excessive? This is a huge problem and someone is going to get hurt. It needs to be stopped.

Regarding the February 1, 2013 opinions of local law enforcement on gun control: The Founding Fathers were mistaken on just that one item, but now that the 2nd Amendment has been tampered into a profitable beast of our liking, yes, let us tamper with it no more.

Pres. Obama was recently quoted as saying Washington does not have a spending problem. Maybe he could use one of his vacations to go to a rehab facility where they could explain to him that it is not to our benefit to borrow 4 billion dollars per day to pay our bills.

Recently, I went to a high school basketball game. At the start of the varsity game, I counted 23 cheerleaders. There were only 10 players. A squad of 5 to 8 girls would be much more practical. They should try out in front of a selection group and compete to be on the team. Just like the boys.
