Live Oak — Suwannee County Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a structure fire on 201st Road at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The occupants reported being woke up by their grandparents yelling. When they got up they realized there was smoke in the house. Everyone was rounded up and they exited the home through the front door. The owner stated he was walking around the outside of the home when he discovered flames at the rear of the home underneath the structure. The owner stated within minutes the flames spread up wall and across the roof. SCFR arrived to find the home fully involved. There were high winds coming out of the north pushing the fire through the home making it difficult to extinguish. It took crews 40 minutes to get the fire under control. The home was a total loss. The American Red Cross was called in to help the family.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
