Carol Sue Ladyman, 75, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away on Sept. 24, 2013, in Hollywood, Fla.
A memorial will be held in the Hospice by the Sea chapel in Bacon Raton, Fla., on Oct. 20, at 2 p.m.
Carol was born in Martinsville, Ind., to William Smith and Nora Townsend Smith on Sept. 27, 1937. She graduated from Martinsville High School in 1956.
She loved the Lord, she loved her family and friends and she was very active in her church. She tirelessly volunteered throughout her life in soup kitchens, thrift stores, and other charitable endeavors to benefit those less fortunate.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Smith and Nora Szatowski; stepmother, Marie Smith; brothers James Smith and Larry Smith; and son, Mitchell Ladyman.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eley Ladyman, of Hollywood, Fla.; two sons, Mickey (Shari) Ladyman and sons, Korey and Kody of Hollywood, Fla., and Marty (Desiree) Ladyman and daugthers Ashley, Taylor and Brooke of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter-in-law, Celeste Ladyman of McAllen, Texas; stepbrother, Keith Beaman; stepsisters Janice (Jim) Bishop and Jean Morgan; and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hope Haven Hospice and Hospice by the Sea, Melody Christian Church, and the many friends and family in Live Oak that spent time with Carol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Joanne Payne Martin, age 74 of Riverside Acres, Donaldsonville, GA. passed away Tuesday Oct. 8, 2013 at the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakeley, GA. Her funeral will be held Saturday Oct. 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, 21802 Lucile Road or Hwy 39 S., Blakely, GA. There will be a visitation Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc., 932 N. Ohio Avenue, Live Oak, Fla. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Lee, Fla. with Rev. Toby Martin officiating both the funeral service in GA. and the graveside service in Fla.
Mrs. Martin was born March 2, 1939 in Jacksonville, Fla. to the late John Thompson Payne, Sr. and Anna Mildred Rowell Payne. She was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donaldsonville, GA. and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Shepard Martin, Sr.
Her survivors include her daughter; Marilyn Jennings of Donaldsonville, GA., two sons; Fred S. Martin, Jr. and his wife Wendy of McAlpin, Fla. and Dennis C. Martin and his wife Edith of Live Oak, Fla., two sisters; her twin Jean Bembry of Dowling Park, Fla. and Janice Yarborough of Madison, Fla. one brother; John Thompson Payne, Jr. and his wife Maryanne of Dumfries, VA., four grandchildren; Tonya Jennings of Tallahassee, Fla., Kyle Jennings of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rev. Toby Martin and Tanner Martin both of Live Oak, Fla., eleven great-grandchildren and a special friend and caretaker, Barbara Wallace of Donaldsonville, GA.
