Rant & Rave for April 25, 2014

Live Oak —

I agree with last week's RnR. Will the truth ever be told about the cost of Heritage Gardens? How can the City Council legally exclude this information from the taxpayers? Why isn't this illegal? I really wish the Suwannee Democrat would address this issue and assess its legality.

Editor’s note: Eighty percent ($686,780) of Live Oak Heritage Park and Gardens (Crapps mansion and estate) was purchased with a grant from the Florida Communities Trust by the city of Live Oak. The remaining 20 percent city “match” ($171,695) was paid by the seller, Daniel Crapps.

"Christians being persecuted or blamed for so many things" in the Apr 23 Suwannee Democrat. This is nothing more than we're the victim excuse. There are churches on every corner and individuals can pray or read their bibles without concern of harm in our country. You are not in any way being persecuted . You're just upset when YOUR religion is no longer given a favored position, like in our government and schools.

Even though articles about the Crapps Mansion has been in the Democrat many times people in Rant & Rave still make comments that the mansion costed the city a fortune. If your going to rant get your facts straight! The Crapps mansion didn't cost the city a dime to obtain. Stop making the residents of this great town seem so ignorant. It may be a good idea to refer people to the articles when they rant about things they have no knowledge of.

There are a ridiculous amount of cars and trucks that speed down pine ave by the high school every day. Are speed bumps an option, being that it is a school and residential area?

The youth today have no since of direction because of HRS and the justice system because you cant discipline your child that why more of them are in trouble now so were was this when I Was a kid the system is failing in most area .
