Live Oak —
Proposed improvements to U.S. 129 in Live Oak will be discussed Tuesday at a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) public meeting which includes removing some on-street parking.
The informal open house is at the Live Oak Passenger Depot located at 210 North Ohio Avenue. Those interested can stop by anytime between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. to look at maps and talk to FDOT staff. Formal comments will be taken beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The proposed improvements along U.S. 129 from the southern city limits of Live Oak to just north of U.S. 90 include resurfacing the existing roadway, adding sidewalks from Miller Street Southeast to the Sav-a-lot/Fred’s shopping center and possibly removing some on-street parking. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2015 at an estimated cost of $3.5 million.
