Live Oak resident involved in Nassau wreck

Live Oak —

A 37-year-old Live Oak resident was injured Monday in a wreck in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

Karonical Bellamy, 37, Live Oak, was driving a 2005 Mack dump truck south on US 301 around 2:13 p.m. when a 2014 Mazda CX-5, driven by Kristy Strength, 40, Middleburg, proceeded to make a left turn onto US 301 when the Mazda collided with the front of the dump truck.

The Mazda was dragged to the right embankment where it came to rest. The dump truck came to a final rest on the right embankment just south of the Mazda.

Strength, who was wearing a seatbelt, received critical injuries. Bellamy received minor injuries. 

Strength was charged with failing to yield.
