David Alan Chandler

David Alan Chandler, 47, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Port St. Lucie, Fla. following a brief illness.

Alan was born in Tallahassee and spent most of his adult years in Gainesville and Port St. Lucie.

Alan was a 1985 graduate of Suwannee High School where he was very active in Sound of Suwannee Band, jazz ensemble and Interact Club.  He was active in theatrical productions by the SHS Theater Department.  He was an honor graduate of SHS with membership in Beta Club and National Honor Society. Alan was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Live Oak and was very active.

Following high school, Alan graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg where he was active in the Waterfront Program, especially Eckerd College Search and Rescue (ECSAR). Alan is fondly remembered as talented and dedicated student and ECSAR member.

Alan is survived by his companion, Stephanie Sandelier, of Port St. Lucie, his parents, David and Cheryle Chandler of Live Oak, one brother, Jeremy (Christy) Chandler of New Haven, CT., and one sister Susan Smith-Sawyer of Westville, Fla. 

Yates Funeral Home of Port St. Lucie is in charge of arrangements.  The family will be holding a private service.

Johnnie Jackson of O'Brien, Fla. was born on Oct. 9, 1935 to the late Johnnie L. Jackson Sr. and Reather Mae Purdy. Mr. Jackson entered into eternal rest on April 21, 2014. 

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife Estelle Jackson; seven children: Johnnie Jackson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Vanester Bryant (Rev. Arthur Bryant) of O'Brien, Fla.; Diane Jackson of O'Brien, Fla.; Delores Jackson (Deacon Ronnie Jackson) of O'Brien, Fla., Gregory Jackson (Franjesca) of Apollo Beach, Fla.; Angela Fisher (Rev. James Fisher), of Jacksonville, Fla.; and April Purnell of Dover, DE; three sisters: Bernice Anthony of Lake City, Fla.; Cherrie Jackson-Boykin and Cheryl Jackson both of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers: Johnnie L. Jackson; Jerry Jackson (Carolina), Jerome Jackson (Tameka) all of Orlando, Fla. Stepmother: Johnnie Mae Jackson of Orlando, Fla.; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one God daughter: Tangier Wiggins (Christopher). Four sisters-in-law: Annie Jackson of O'Brien, Fla.; Margarite Jackson, Bessie Massey both of Mayo,Fla. and Carolyn Williams (Arron) of Lakeland, Fla.; eight brothers-in-law: Albert Murray, Lucious Murray, Robert Murray (Carolyn), Tom Murray, Isaisah Murry (Jewel), Frank Murray, Eddie James Murray (Ronda), and Richard Murray all of Lakeland, Fla. A special niece Mamie Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
