Rant & Rave for April 18, 2014

Live Oak —

Why were the Florida state teacher test scores published if all the teachers say it is not accurate? Scores had to be based on some type of performance. We have two Suwannee County School Board members, daughter and daughter in law, that are teachers whose names or test scores were not published. Why is this? Teachers needs to be accountable for their teachings. How a student is treated changes who they are forever.

Editor’s note: Only some teachers will have VAM results. This is because the models adopted use data from FCAT and Grade 9 Algebra I statewide assessments. For teachers of courses other than those associated with FCAT and Grade 9 Algebra I, districts select other assessment data to include in evaluations.

March 29 I went to the SHS to see “Oklahoma” and it was so good, but I haven’t heard anyone Rant & Rave about how many talented kids we have in Live Oak. I can’t say who of the over 50 kids was the best but the acting, singing and dancing was great. I was proud of them and Miss Bass did a great job.

The closure of South Hamilton Elementary (SHE) is a blow to the community of White Springs. But it is not the school board who is to blame, it is the political leadership, or should I say lack of leadership, that did SHE in. The buildings and reports of the buildings decay have been piling up for years yet no political move has been made in White Springs to solve the problem in 15 years. Shame on us.

U.N. reslution 217 deals with firearms control.

Point #11, calls for MEMBER STATE TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION AND DISARMAMENT.. the Senate voted 53-46 against the resolution. ALL 46 VOTES TO DIS-AMERICANS WERE DEMOCRATS.

BILL NELSON VOTED FOR THE RESOLUTION.

Florida voters need to get him out of Office, he is no more then a Obama puppet.!!!!
