Boarding up the roundabout

Live Oak — Lumber spilled on the roadway at the roundabout Wednesday afternoon causing traffic to be detoured on SR 51.

According to witnesses on the scene, the truck driver, Brian Owens, said that he had picked up the load of lumber bound for Virginia.

Live Oak Fire Department's Alan Bedenbaugh said the trucker proceeded into the roundabout, hitting a car on the passenger door side. The trucker stopped quickly causing some of the lumber to fall off the trailer. The weight of some of the lumber hitting the cab caused the front windshield to pop out of place.

No injuries were sustained.
