Rant & Rave for May 9, 2014

Live Oak —

Come on people, in a county this small & poor, so much corruption & waste? A gov't does not make money, it collects it(from you) & disperses it (often poorly). The heritage thing, the city cemetery payroll, now the transit scheme, same circles, no term limits, blah, blah. So the folks involved here have known each other 20 yrs., that says it all. This area learnt at the end of the civil war to collect money from the gov't. during reconstruction, GRANT MONEY!!! That's what they do, a "good" grant writer is a gold mine. In all fairness, it's every level of gov't., but here we have the biggest employer & the best paying one being a bloated, incompetent and crooked gov't. All tied to each other somehow for decades & all feeding off regular working folks who earn far less than the ridiculous salaries they collect to do a 1/2 **sed job. A full scale criminal investigation is needed, a county charter, & term limits. These fine church goers stink to high heaven.

To my fellow neighbors who have nothing better to do than complain about non-sense issues. Shut your mouth, quit the "Hate-Typing" and get your hands dirty fixing the problem!

Why this unneeded four way stop on Helvenston? Only causing impediment to traffic. What is needed is a repaving job, BADLY! Also the 30 MPH is ridiculous. As previously suggested, from HWY 90 to Birdland should be 45, then on to HWY 129 could be 30. Why fix something that does not need fixing?

To the reader that asked about NJROTC. yes they teach about boats, knot tying and they have an air rifle, drill and academic teams. Please go to the Navy NJROTC website and check under curriculum and it will tell you what all they teach. GREAT PROGRAM at Suwannee High.
