2014 Hornet Hustle 5K Run/Walk set for Saturday

Live Oak —

The 2014 Hornet Hustle 5K Run/Walk fundraiser is set for Saturday, May 3, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Lafayette High School. Entry fee is $25 and there will be no refunds.

“I would like to invite and encourage anyone who is interested to come out and participate in the Hornet Hustle 5K Run/Walk sponsored by J & J Gas,” said Lafayette High School head football coach Joey Pearson.

Awards will be given to the top male and top female in two different age groups, 17 and under and 18 and up. Proceeds will go toward funding Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camp in Marianna this summer for the LHS Hornet Football Team.

“If you want to register early, you can drop entry forms off at my office at LHS or at Connie Pearson's office at Lafayette Elementary School,” said Pearson. “Everyone is welcome to participate, both runners and walkers.”

Please be reminded that participating in a running event could be a hazardous activity. Participants must be medically able and properly trained, and are required to sign a waiver to assume all risks before being allowed to enter the race.

For more information about the event, contact Joey Pearson, director of support services and head football coach for Lafayette District Schools.
